Antique Circle Pattern Manipuri Singing Bowl with short overtones #9689

1. Best L 6 Large Medium Mallet single tap.

Thick Manipuri with clear banded circle interior artwork. The bowl has rich dark patina. Amazingly the bowl has a pinhole at the bottom. I say amazingly because the bottom is thick and intact, the pinhole is where the artist placed the center of his punch and probably tapped too hard. You can see it if you hold the bowl up to a bright background – see if you can find it! Not a sonic or weakness issue so I would consider it a feature, not a flaw.

Smooth and easy pulsing bass with some short lived overtones. Premium harmony, average longevity. The gently pulsing bass flattens out later in the sustain.

Not a bowl for spinning the rim, just enjoy the soundscape tapping this unusual adorned bowl.. With overtones at A5, G#6, E7.
