Very old Manipuri, thick and smooth from wear with a short inscription – likely added long after the bawls was originally made. The bowl has creamy patina and a slightly flared our time A real treasure. High frequency penetrating soundscape where the overtones soon become the main part that you hear. They become a solid singing force. Very good harmony and sustain. Easy wood rim play, the fundamental tone and first overtone with simple wood. Purer higher notes with a wand, very smooth rim with enough grip to take off easily. With overtones at C#6, C7, G#7, D8.
