Exceptional Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with finely textured sound #9774

9774 Exceptional Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with finely textured sound #9774

1. Best L 2 Large Very Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather followed by FP Massive Yew Wand then FP Ebony Wand

Very large and tall Manipuri with a bight clean appearance and a bit of exterior art. This bowl has been worn very thin in spots. Finely textured soundscape, visceral power where the initial fundamental is quickly superseded by a mix of overtones, you can easily hear three of them. Quite remarkable. Fine sustain to go with the exceptional sound. Excellent rim play as it is clean and smooth. You can keep the bass going with leather and easily spin out overtones with basic wood. To really hear the finely textured overtones I would encourage you to go for the wands – massive yew and ebony. With overtones at G4, F#5, C#6, C#7.
