Exceptional Antique Remuna Singing Bowl with a penetrating overtone

6525 Exceptional Antique Remuna Singing Bowl with a penetrating overtone

Large Remuna with rich dark hammermark patina. The bowl is old and worn with the faintest of etchings, a bit thicker than most Remuna. Exceptionally harmonious relatively high toned bowl where the penetrating overtone is the first to come into awareness followed by the softly pulsing but still woo-woo like primary tone. There is a texture to the arrangement of frequencies that has visceral impact. Good longevity, both tones playing clearly. Spectacular rim play, easy and pure bass with volume, bass being the low 4th octave. Unusual for these large Remuna, the overtone is best played with wood. with a hard wand, kingwood only on this bowl, the highest two notes sing out. Those high overtones are really the secret sauce of the amazing texture of this bowl. With overtones at F#5, F6, C#7.
