2092 Cracked Antique Thadobati Lingam Singing Bowl with excellent harmony
Small old style Thadobati Lingam with creamy patina and a massive Y shaped crack traversing most of the bottom of the bowl. When I say crack I don’t mean just a hairline, there is enough displacement that you can feel this one. The extensive artwork is clear but very worn. This is a rare classical small Thadobati lingam. The crack has no effect on the sound whatsoever. The bowl sings purely and simply, excellent harmony to start which eventually becomes the primary tone fluttering on. Very good sustain. Plays well off the smooth rim wood only. Simple ringing stick for the lows, harder wands for the highs. With overtones at A#6, G#7.
