Super thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl powerful soundscape

3013 Super thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl powerful soundscape

Incredibly thick very old large and heavy Thadobati. The bowl has a dark gold copper color mixed with the kind of green copper you see on old church fixtures. A bit of design shows through the patina. This is about as thick and heavy as any singing bowl from the Himalayas comes, a truly rare piece. Powerful soundscape, all that metal vibrating, just a soft tap needed. With a hard mallet you can accentuate the highs, a soft mallet is much more focused on the still high fundamental. Mostly when you ring the bowl the sound is clean, sometimes a flaw deep in the bowl lets out a dissonant squeal. You can hear the clean high tone in clip 1 then at the end the flaw. Plays great of the rim, smoothly with leather with excellent sustain. With a massive wand or large stick more of the overtones come out. With overtones at A#5, A6, E7.
