XX Thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a mixture of sweet notes

3106 XX Thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a mixture of sweet notes

Very large super thick Thadobati, a fantastic example of the most ancient style of singing bowl. We collected this bowl in 2008 and are rotating it out of our private collection. The color is a shimmering white-gold and it has not changed a bit in the dozen years we’ve had it. It has clear and worn artwork inside, outside and on the broad rim. Incredibly powerful and responsive bowl, you can easily hear the difference with each of the four large precision mallets. The bowl is a mixture of sweet notes each playing clearly and coming together in exceptional harmony. Longevity is fantastic, a light touch can easily give a minute of sound. In the hand you can feel this heavy bowl sending harmonious vibrations into the body. Great off the rim, it picks up power seamlessly from the leather side with high volume smoothly and quickly. What you can hear in the recording is the solid playing overtone while the stick is in contact with the bowl then an intense pulsing woo-woo as the rim shakes off energy alone. Remarkable. To play the overtone with a bit of mix fundamental in the background a massive Yew wand is the best. this is an exceptional and rare piece, a world class bowl very difficult to find anywhere. With overtones at G#5, G6, D7.
