Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with soft bass and flutter

3351 Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with soft bass and flutter

Large very thick triple circle Thadobati style bowl. This very old bowl has a full set of hand punched circles around the circumference along with all the supporting artwork inside and out. This same artwork, especially the crushed ruin, often graces lingam bowls. The exterior has two textures and the colors are gold green and a little red. We purchased this bowl in 2013. Simple soundscape with a solid soft bass under a fluttering overtone. This is a bowl that trends to the peaceful side by the end its singing just a solid tone. Longevity is fair to good, the recording goes for 25 seconds. Nice pure fundamental tone off the rim with leather, very sweet. Wood, even a soft yew wand comes across a bit rough with a mixture of bass and overtone. With overtones at G5, G#6, D#7.
