Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with rapidly fluttering tones #3878
3878 Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with rapidly fluttering tones #3878
1. Best L 4 Large Low Mallet followed by L 8 single tap. |
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather followed by FP Massive Vermilion Wand |
Old large Thadobati with a triple circle pattern and a thick crushed rim. The patina is mostly light from a recent cleaning. Rich soundscape characterized by rapidly fluttering tones at both the low and high end. Low is relative for this big bowl, starting in the 4th octave as it does. The high overtones are well balanced by the strong primary tone throughout the sustain – which is good for this style. Primary tone plays strongly off the rim with leather. Spring for a vermillion massive wand if you want to hear the long lasting high pitch off the rim. With overtones at A5, G#6, D#7, D#5.
