Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a singing overtone and subtle high #3964

3964 Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a singing overtone and subtle high #3964

1. Best L 4 Large Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N102 Medium Ringing Stick leather low then overtone followed by wood followed by FP Tiny Yew Wand

Simple thin larger Thadobati with muted hammermarks and etching worn from use. The bowl has bright original patina. A steady deep tone is a solid presence under a singing overtone and subtle high. Longevity is just ok, the bowl plays with volume to start, even grows a bit then quiets. The energy goes into your hand rather than the air making this a great bowl for transmitting vibrational energy. The flat bottom makes it a fine body bowl. harmony is premium, very coherent. Excellent stick play, smooth and easy off the thin rim. Unusually the leather tends towards the bass as you push the volume, nice if you are focused on the deep tone. The range of highs above are spectacular with more leather pressure, the simple wood side and then tiny wand. With overtones at A4, G#5, E6.
