Thick Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with bell like tones

3987 Thick Large Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with bell like tones

Incredibly thick very old large and heavy Thadobati. The bowl has a flared out shape with the rim tilting to the outside. Patina wise it is a mixture of dark and gold. The artwork is worn yet strong. This is about as thick and heavy as any singing bowl from the Himalayas comes, a truly rare piece. Bell like tone set that radiates out of that open shape. It starts out bright but settles into a more peaceful mode. Good sustain. Plays very smoothly off the rim with leather, you can have a lot of control speeding up and slowing down, the bowl moves right with you. The kind of control you can get downright playful with. If desired, volume can be tremendous. Less satisfying with wood, though wood does give you a longer rim sustain. With overtones at F#5, F6, C#7, C#5.
