Antique Large Thadobati Singing Bowl with a four step overtone
4503 Antique Large Thadobati Singing Bowl with a four step overtone
1. Best L 2 Large Very Low Mallet single tap |
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather then wood followed by FP Ebony Wand |
Large Thadobati with rich patina. Originally an elaborately etched piece with punch circles around the outer edge and etching inside the bowl has been worn heavily from use. You can see in one spot traces of the triple circle design, an indicator of superior sound. Solid middle A with a nicely arranged four step overtone. A bit unusual, sort of a rockabye feel to it. Sustain is just ok, half a minute but not much more. Premium harmony. Excellent stick play, two mixtures of bass and overtone with different leather technique, purer high with simple wood, super highs with an ebony wand. With overtones at D#5, , . Perfect A3 – 220 Hz.
