Large Thadobati Singing Bowl with resonant and mellow harmony

4598 Large Thadobati Singing Bowl with resonant and mellow harmony

1. Best L 6 Large Medium Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather low then overtone

Rough dark Thadobati style bowl rather heavy for its under 7 inch size. While it could be easy to mistake this bowl for an antique the thin mechanical lines indicating machine assisted construction and the lack of wear tell a different story. It is a type of bowl now more often showing up and being offered as an antique. We picked this bowl up because it sounds quite good, especially for the price. Resonant and mellow the most prominent first sound – which is an overtone, drops out and leaves the bass and next level high. Interesting effect. Not so much longevity, good harmony with the multiple tones. Fine leather rim play pure bass and overtone. The rough rim says skip wood as a medium for singing the bowl. As an antique this bowl would sell for twice as much. With overtones at F5, D#6, , .
