3068 Sharp Looking Antique Thadobati Lingam Singing Bowl

Heavy large very well preserved ceremonial Thadobati Lingam bowl. Sharp features inside and out including a matte finish below the lower outside line. The bottom of the bowl is full of pure copper, likely from incomplete smelting. High strike tone quickly superseded by a lower but still high oscillating secondary tone when struck with a hard mallet, oscillating tone alone with the softer one. The state of preservation gets in the way of stick play, these bowls if ever rung were struck..
