20070 Dented Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with energetic singing overtone #20070

1. Best L 4 Large Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play:

Mid-Size Thadobati with faint artwork and original patina. It has a worn inscription with the name Jagdish Puri Anathram in Bengali script. Sort of amazingly the bowl is dented! Normally bowls break when struck, not this one. What is even more of a mystery is the bowl had no dent when I checked it out and it was packed inside other perfectly fine bowls. This means some guy packing it dropped the bowl and stuffed it in the box anyway figuring out he could get away with it. It is a fine sounding bowl and the dent isn’t even unsightly – so here it is for half price. Pulsing bass and singing overtone, both quite active and energetic. Fine longevity and harmony. Excellent rim play. The bass tone can be spun with leather – clean and pure.- while the long lasting overtone can play with either with leather or wood. A tiny wand brings our a piercing overtone. A fine bowl for half price. With overtones at F5, C7, F#7. Middle C – A432 Scale – 256 Hz.
