Polished Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a sharp high overtone #7549
7549 Polished Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a sharp high overtone #7549
1. Best S 7 Small Medium High Mallet single tap. |
2. Rim Play: N101 Small Ringing Stick leather then wood followed by FP Kingwood Wand |
Bright, even polished, thick Thadobati with worn but clear etching. A very nice looking bowl. Very solid – weighs a full pound. Mixed soundscape which has a strong fundamental that is superseded by a sharp high overtone almost right from the start. That high frequency energy dissipates leaving the smooth fundamental. It is unusual for a high note to leap out like that. Good sustain and harmony. Good rim play. It takes a bit of time with leather to bring up the fundamental. Overtone is fine with simple wood. The next high can be played with intensity with the kingwood wand. With overtones at E6, D7, A#7.
