4605 Thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with spectacular flawed harmonics #4605

1. Best L 4 Large Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N105 XL Ringing Stick leather followed by FP Massive Yew Wand

Super extra thick Thadobati with elaborate etching and original patina. This ancient bowl is incredibly heavy, even with its thickness making me wonder what trace metals are in there. The rim is deeply etched. Sometimes I wonder what is the best way to characterize a bowl with spectacular harmonics and also a sonic flaw. This bowl has both. Off the mark you can hear that high rattling note which drops away an leaves an angelic soundscape. Good longevity, premium harmony. A super soft mallet as recommended will play the bowl without the flaw but also the harmonizing overtones. Still its a great bowl. In order to play this hefty bowl off the rim the biggest stick is necessary. Leather spins the high main tone, a big yew wand is the smoothest for the overtone. Marked down for the sonic issue, a great price for one of these increasingly rare super thick bowls. With overtones at B5, A#6.
