Exceptional Huge Antique Ultabati Singing Bowl with super deep tone

917 Exceptional Huge Antique Ultabati Singing Bowl with super deep tone

Huge Ultabati with clear brassy patina and hammermarks and interesting little inscription. The bowl has classical clear art and has been worked to be deliciously smooth in the outer band under the rim. An impressive example of this rare bowl style. Super deep strike tone, C#2 is the lowest note in antique singing bowls and at 71Hz this is one of the lowest frequencies I have ever offered for sale. The bowl has a marvelous soundscape. The deepest tone is a solid presence, next overtone up moves with a bit more energy and above that the next note faster. This bowl has an amazing amount of sonic depth. If played with a slightly higher mallet all kinds of higher tones begin to peek out. The internal harmony is spectacular. Longevity is great as you would expect from a 13″ bowl. Leather off the rim has a real wow factor. That pure low note and huge volume moves so much air it can take your breath away. Way to get the overtones, should you be so inclined, is a massive wand. With overtones at G#3, G4.
