Beautifully formed Ultabati with deep graceful curves, clear lines and flawless original patina. The bowl ls well preserved with good evidence of wear. Powerful deep and steady bass plays with premium harmony and outstanding sustain. The bowl however has a flaw, a sharp rattle that continues for a good ten seconds before sorting out. You can’t hear it in the main recording, if you tap the bowl gently enough the rattle does not arise.- so there is a work around. Still the flaw is unambiguous and so at the end of the recording I’ve played the bowl hard and high so you can hear it. No returns on this bowl, please – it is marked down by half. Rim play is fine, a huge leather stick is all you need. You can play a bass mix or the overtone depending on technique. The flaw is not in these frequencies so you don’t hear it. Excellent rim longevity. A great price on a rare bowl. With overtones at C#4, C#5.
