Gracefully shaped and elaborately etched singing bowl in a shape reminiscent of an anvil. The bowl has a tight waist to offset a wide bottom and top. The bowl is double extra thick weighing 3 1/2 Lbs. and graced by an outer facing rim etched with deeply etched lines. The bowl has original patina. An incredible rare piece of singing bowl artistry.
High frequency intensely fluttering soundscape. A recording really can’t do justice to this bowl’s penetrating power. The soundscape is a mix of intensity and complexity unlike the usual styles of singing bowls. The bowl is so wild that even the frequency which my sophisticated equipment will normally pin down to a single most prominent Hz varies over an unheard of 10 Hz range.
This is not a bowl to spin around the rim, too smooth, too pointed an edge. However I couldn’t help but make a recording of tapping the bowl with a wooden stick. It gives a taste of the hidden complexities.. With overtone at A#6.
