Unusual looking and sounding Antique Himalayan Bowl
9807 Unusual looking and sounding Antique Himalayan Bowl
Short walled bowl from Northern India with dark patina. This unusual piece features an extensive array of interior art. While not a singing bowl, per se, it is made from resonant metal and shaped to deliver a resonant sound. An unusual sound it is, many steady notes that all seem to deliver the same intensity and then this one spinning fluttering high. It has quite the unique soundscape, with an internal harmony all its own. This bowl should be part of a collection, something for show and tell, not the only singing bowl you own. I’ve seen a few others like this one – but this is the only one I brought back to sell, the others lacking in coherence. Not a stick bowl. With overtones at D#5, C#6, G#6, D7. Perfect A3 – 220 Hz.
