Antique Buddhist /Bon Medicine bowl for sonic potentiation

9808 Antique Buddhist /Bon Medicine bowl for sonic potentiation

Himalayan medicine bowls were used as an part of preparing herbs for use. The flat form and central lingam were designed to provide a surface on which to arrange a mandala of herbs, compounds and minerals. Often the mandala was placed on the chest of the intended recipient and rung, sometimes once and sometimes in a series. This medicine bowl’s strike tone oscillates. While not traditional, this bowl plays well with ringing sticks. A large ringing stick plays 633HZ D#5 while a Frank Perry wand brings our a sixth octave overtone in D, 1170Hz. Great looking bowl, dark, with many lines and a sharp lingam.
