Corrina takes a very special big Lingham bowl out and sits with it on the river levee at dawn – just her, her bicycle and the singing bowl. Two black crows are flying overhead and they come down and land on the bike path not more than ten feet away. She keeps ringing the singing bowl and they stomp around a bit, cocking their heads but not making a sound. Sort of unusual behavior for crows. And then they are off. Corrina said these were the same two crows that visited James in the Rainbow Garden 10 miles away. He had been ringing this same bowl just days before.

The site has a LOT of information to help you make a good decision on a bowl. Each bowl has audio of what it sounds... like and what striker was used to make the sound. Ryan is very helpful with any questions and responds promptly. The bowls are all previously owned, many old ones, getting a new home with a new generation of people interested in using the bowls as they were originally intended. I find it neat that the bowl I have was, at some point in the past, used by a devout person to meditate or heal with and while subsequent generations may have dropped the practice, that bowl has now found its way to my hands. When I pick up the bowl and invite it to sing, all those previously who had invited it to sing are there with me as well. Totally cool! I will return to Best Singing Bowls for future bowl purchases. I highly recommend this site!read more
Love the website with detailed descriptions and sound files of each bowl. The “compare” feature is great and allowed me... to build a set that complements the bowls I already own. At this point, all my my best sounding bowls have come from Best Singing Bowls. I am using them regularly in soundbaths and recordings.read more
There are a lot of choices out there mostly new machine turned and some handmade bowls with an emphasis on shine and... etchings. But if you are interested in sustain, complex harmonics made of fundamentals and perfect intervals then the only option is the vintage market. This has to do with materials and old techniques. Ryan has an exceptional ear and a very big heart. Not only does he know his craft in making high end mallets he reveres bowls as works of art with the care and sensitivity as they were intended. My bowl appeared to me in a dream its resonant tone woke me up. After two days surfing the net I found his site. There is no one that I found on line that presents this level of detail description and sound samples. I was able to match what I had heard in my dream. Magical or just meant to be. This bowl has soul.. just like our man. He is gracious and so available for any and all questions. Your purchase from Singing Bowls will be a lasting treasure.. mine is.read more

The website site really is so informative and interesting! A treasure trove of knowledge and sounds! I just want to add... that the written descriptions of the sounds for each bowl are so helpful and understandable. I spent a lot of time listening to many of the bowls and learned more about bowls and sounds from your website than from anywhere else. It was hard to choose just one bowl! But I kept going back to the one bowl because of the way the sounds made me feel. I also purchased the recommended mallets and wands for this specific bowl and wow! All the sounds you can coax using different sticks! I bought this bowl as a birthday gift to myself and now I plan to get another birthday bowl every year (at least!) The owner, Ryan, is super helpful and responded right away to my emails. It is an honor to be the new steward of this precious old singing bowl. Thank you again!read more
