Thick Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a peaceful high frequency #7532

1. Best S 7 Small Medium High Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N102 Medium Ringing Stick wood followed by FP Tulipwood Wand

Thick very worn circle design Thadobati with rich dark patina and faint vestiges of a crushed rim. This old bowl has crystalized copper sparkles on the inside. A remarkably peaceful high frequency sustain follows an initial clash of sounds. I say clash because the bowl greets you with a bright wake up call of sounds and within two seconds simplifies to the high fundamental tone. From there it gently sings, slowly losing volume over a quite satisfying sustain. Quite special actually. Rather nice rim play with wood. A simple ringing stick will bring out the fundamental, the tulipwood and ebony tiny wands will sing the overtone as well as a bit of another sound which is part of the bowls bright greeting. Unusually this bowl vibrates into the center of the hand when you spin it. With overtones at G#6, G7.
