Ultabati

Ultabati are large bowls with walls that slope out up to about an inch below the rim where a graceful C-shaped curve is hammered in. The rim on most Ultabati singing bowls follows this curve and slopes outward. The artists usually accentuate the differently sloped areas with etching or coloration. Older Ultabati come in sizes from 8 to 15 inches. Their tones are deep, second octave mostly below 100 Hz.
