Hand assembled set of large Thadobati bowls over 6 1/2 inches wide, chosen to span a range of notes and to sound great together. This one of a kind set includes many different sizes, ages, states of preservation and sub-styles. Attention has been paid to making the intervals between bowls fairly even so you can hear the steps, which can be less than an full notes. All the bowls are good to excellent quality pieces. The tones range from low in the third octave to part of the fourth.
It takes time and energy to put something like this together. You need to start with hundreds of really good bowls and then work the edges of their collective sounds to come up with just the right mix. There is no bowl in this set that we did not personally select for its individual sound quality on one of our buying trips to the Himalayas. When assembling the set these individual bowls have to fit into this harmonious whole.
The set costs $100 a bowl. Individually priced, some bowls would be higher and some lower sold individually.
The set comes with full statistics for each bowl, dimensions, weight, frequencies, notes and overtones. Each bowl is individually labeled with the note and octave, whether the bowl is sharp or flat of the true note as well as their place in the sequence. The labeling is really helpful, makes it easy to lay the bowls out and associate them.
Sets are assembled to order out of our extensive stock. Each set is unique, each set amazing.
