Large Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a lively initial soundscape #1879
1879 Large Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a lively initial soundscape #1879
1. N33Medium Nepali Mallet single tap. |
2. Rim Play: |
Simple dark Jambati, lots of hammermarks and original patina with a pair of faint inner lines peering through. The bowl has an inscription in Bengali script dedicated to Bhagwan Das. Lively initial soundscape quickly settles to a gently pulsing low octave C. Longevity and harmony are OK. A simple leather wrapped ringing stick is all you need for rim play. Bass with a light touch, intense overtone with pressure. A fine price for a low octave C with the bonus of an inscription. With overtones at F#4, B4, F#5.
