Adorned Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl with a solid bass tone #6745

6745 Adorned Antique Manipuri Lingam Singing Bowl with a solid bass tone #6745

1. Best L 6 Large Medium Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N102 Medium Ringing Stick wood followed by FP Ebony Wand

Large adorned Manipuri lingam with a clear set of banded punch circles around the raised central part and more worn etching in the rest of the bowl. It has the classical lingam exterior design. Fine example of this ceremonial style bowl. Solid bass, fluttering overtone and singing high in a clear three tone soundscape. All the notes continue throughout the sustain which is very good. Excellent wood rim play, easy to bring to volume and spectacular rim longevity. Basic wood for the overtone, wand for next high. A rare example of a thick, old well preserved Manipuri lingam with rich patina. With overtones at A5, G#6, E7.
