XX Thick Huge Antique Mani Singing Bowl with lots of worn artwork. #6192

1. Best L 8 Large High Mallet followed by L 4 single taps.

Super thick extra large old style Mani with a very broad decorated rim. This bowl has extensive etching and smoky dark patina. At 5 Lbs and 8 1/2 inches this is one of the largest and heaviest Mani bowls you will ever come across. he rim at over 1.6 CM is about as broad as ever seen in any singing bowl. Super high pitch with a rapid flutter. Played with a lower tone mallet the bowl drops slightly in frequency still a high G#5. Longevity is only fair. The combination of rough patina and sharp edges makes this bowl not a candidate for rim play. If it was sand blasted or grinder polished then it would rim sing that way but it would be a shame to take away all the character the patina lends to the bowl. With overtone at C#7.
