Thick Distinctive Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with wavering tones #4601

1. Best L 2 Large Very Low Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather low then overtone

Huge Thadobati, about as big as they get, with slightly rounded walls. The bowl is thick with lines and circles inside and out. The rim is very special, turned in with a very deep and broad etched line. Interesting wavering soundscape that starts with a metallic clang and evolves. It has a super solid overtone flanked by a bouncing bass and high overtone, oscillating at different rates. The initial effect is an unevenness, not discordant but challenging, Since the sustain is excellent the soundscape changes over time dropping out the second overtone and to focus on the now evenly bouncing bass and solid overtone. The effect then is to start off balance and end with a balanced choice of focus. Spectacular rim play, the bass easily flows off the rim with just a bit of background high. The overtone sings powerfully. Both are smooth and easy, played with leather, no need for wood. Great rim sustain. With overtones at D5, D6.
