Exceptional Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with uplifting mix of tones #4759

1. Best L 6 Large Medium Mallet single tap.
2. Rim Play: N103 Large Ringing Stick leather low then overtone

Beautiful large Thadobati style with extensive etching and magnificent coloration. I don’t know how the bowl achieved this coloring, it is so just different!. Complex and resonant a bell like mixture of uplifting tones that fade leaving the bass to gently pulse along. Longevity is ok, not that much more than 30 seconds. The many overtones especially when using a higher tone mallet is the bowl’s strength. The rim patina gives leather excellent grip. In contrast to mallet play the stick isolates pure tones. Too rough for satisfying wood play, which is really not necessary anyway. An exceptionally beautiful bowl with uncommon complexity. With overtones at D5, C6, G#6, D7.
