Polished XX thick Mani with extensive artwork and a broad rim, The artwork is worn and clear except for the rim where the hand use has worn most of it off. Solid and penetrating high tone soundscape. Initially the matching overtone is clear then it drops out leaving the focused fundamental. The sustain is unusual and actually excellent. Unusual in that it quiets down quickly, excellent in that once it becomes softer it maintains volume. What starts as a flutter appears to increase in speed to the point where it appears solid, which is part of its cut through quality. If you are looking for a bowl to break patterns this one has that attention getting quality. Fine wood rim play. The same fundamental tone can be played with a basic wood or massive zebrawood wand but I would encourage the wand as it comes to volume in just one spin and therefore is a cleaner way to spin out the sound.
